Roasted where you drink it
We started in 2012 with a second-hand 5 kg roaster in a garage on the east side. Today we roast in the back of our café on Alder Street, so the coffee you drink has usually been a roasted bean for less than a week.
We buy directly from farms we know by name, pay above fair-trade prices, and roast lighter than most so you can taste where the coffee grew. If you are new to specialty coffee, ask us anything. We would rather explain than impress.

Questions we hear a lot
Do you have a place to work or study?
Yes. We have free Wi-Fi and plenty of outlets. On weekdays the back room is quiet until noon, so it is the best time to bring a laptop.
Can I order beans online?
Not yet. For now, message us through the form below or stop by the café, and we will set aside a bag for you. Online ordering is planned for later this year.
Do you have dairy-free and vegan options?
Oat and almond milk are always available at no extra charge. Our cardamom bun is made with butter, but we bake a vegan seasonal pastry every day.
Are dogs allowed?
Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the patio. Water bowls are by the front door.
How do I book a brewing class?
Send us a message with your name and the date you would like. Classes run on Saturday mornings, and we confirm your place by email within a day.
